Arkansas abrasive stones are designed to remove roughness from composite fillings and prepare the surface for polishing.

Arkansas stone (or Arkansas) is a white mineral with a bluish or yellowish tint, with a waxy sheen, and a conchoidal fracture. It consists of the most common crystalline silica, that is, quartz. But Arkansas has a special structure. Firstly, this is the purest quartz rock - it contains 99.5% SiO2. Even rock crystal contains more impurities!

There are 2 types of abrasive stones: for the contra-angle handpiece (speed: 7,000 rpm) and for the turbine handpiece (speed: 15,000 rpm).
